10 years of flirting and shamelessly bending over the bar in low cut shirts.

1 magic first date, with 2 really bad movies, and I truly fell head over heels.

2.5 years of dating my best friend in the world.

2 cats, 1 house, 1,000,000 special memories.

1 ring from the 1 man that I want to spend the rest of my life with.

Things are about to get a whole lot poorer, here at the Choosy Beggars, now that I’ve been given free reign to throw myself into a psychotic frenzy of over zealous wedding planning.  I’ve already started  my spreadsheets (tedious but rewarding), budgets (depressing as hell) and Gant diagrams (everything looks better in color).  As we plan, once again, to deliberately send ourselves spiraling head first into immeasurable debt, you can look forward to the next year of recipes being centered around rice and beans or ketchup soup.

I’m so happy I don’t have to steal Tina away so she can be my hot-sauce-making kitchen wife. 😉

    Congratulations you guys!

  • Kim

What a beautiful ring T..nice going Mike! I wouldn’t worry though, I’m sure even your lowest budget meals will taste like a million bucks!

I would like to note that the “free rein” to explode into furious wedding planning was purely inferred on Tina’s part, but that I am helpless to resist.

Also: Getting engaged to the person you love has a hilarious side effect of causing both of you to burst out into giddy laughter whenever you make eye contact.

OH MY GOD TINA!!!!!!!!!!! That’s AWESOME, and your ring is gorgeous, and I was so worried we were going to have to start bullying him into getting a ring already, but it looks like he did it of his own volition! I’m so happy for you, and thrilled that you get to experience the joy of committing your life to another person who loves you, as well as registering for hordes of awesome kitchen stuff.

    Aw, romance.

  • Jenertia

I just assumed you were already married, because you just fit so well together. That bodes well, doesn’t it?

Congratulations and awesomesauce. I can’t wait to hear what food you’re planning for the reception.

I’m so happy for you! Wedding planning is so much fun. I told my DH (Dear/Damn Husband depending on your mood) that I wanted to renew our vows every year so that I could plan another wedding every year.

Perhaps it would be better just to become a wedding planner… oh well.

    Best Wishes!

  • Madge

    Yay!! Congratulations, you two!

  • Laura

Congrats! Beautiful ring…I read on Mike’s FB profile how he did it and I cried at work. So sweet 🙂

  • honeydijonay

Oooh! Congratulations are in serious order! I don’t know what’s more awesome about that pic, the smile on your face or the ring.
