I made these this evening, we all loved them so much more than regular fried rings! And much less work than batches and batches of onions in and out of the oil. Though I did make them with some of my huge red onions out of the garden instead of the sweet onions. They might have been a little less juicy, but delish none the less!

Yes, Walla Walla is in SE Washington, one of the greatest places in the country!! Born and raised there, I even worked in the onion barns for several summers in high school and college (not fun work!!)
I have seen WW Sweets all over the country in Safeway stores and others. They are by far the best, and I’m not a bit prejudiced!
Baked onions are amazingly wonderfuland very healthy!.

I have made Ellie’s version many times, they are super delicious and so addictive. I will try them with panko instead of chips next time. I also never follow serving sizes, eating only 5 of these onion rings is just a ridiculous thing to expect of me. Maybe that is why I have to spend so much time at the gym.

Oh, gosh — these look fab. And they’re baked!! (what luck!)
I’m all over onion rings, but I’m trying REALLY hard to leave that fryer OFF lately. These look like the perfect additon to a steak… too bad about those steaks, though. Really. Such high hopes…

I made this this evening. They turned out well (except I was busy eating the rings from the first pan, so the second pan got a bit over crispy). I will definitely make them again.
