Haha – yes, a wedding cake made of cheese. Instead of tiers of sheet cake we’re going to be doing whole wheels of cheese. I haven’t decided on decoration yet (ribbon vs. flowers? Flowers vs. fruit?) but I figured that choosing the cheeses was step 1….

I love za’atar! I think it has to do with it’s tangy-saltiness…

I love that you used some wholewheat flour in this, and thanks for an awesome snack suggestion!

p.s. if you wanted to be more decadent you could, just before you take them out of the oven, melt some mozzarella cheese on top (or any mild, melty cheese). It gives you a gooey, luscious contrast in texture and flavor

Kristie – I was shocked myself to see yet another witty and shimmeringly funny Kristie in our midst!! You have za’atar? That’s awesome!!! You should try za’atar and honey glazed carrots – I think you’d totally dig that. Oh god, I can’t believe I just said that. All of a sudden I can feel the ankles on my jeans getting tighter as my bangs start to raise……

Mike – but he’s neither a parrot nor a man. Seriously, I have no whimsy. But at least I like crackers, and that has to count for something??

I love homemade crackers, and those look just like wheat thins that got a sprinkling of awesome on top. I have to take issue, though. I do not work in a cheese shop (wish I did, but don’t). And I’m not effervescent.

When Mike said you were upstairs making crackers, I got really excited to see what kind they were, and I’m not disappointed. And I have Za’atar!! Joy unbounded, we’re having crackers for dinner!
